Little nugget

Something key to remember is that every moment is absolutely precious, as in it has never happened before in the long history of the universe and will never happen just this way again. The moment only happens following a long chain of amazingly improbable events, starting with the big bang all the way through the essentially chance nature of however it is your parents came to come to make you, and on to your finding yourself reading these words. Isn't that amazing magical understanding of the sheer improbability of this exact moment happening incredible! (Whoa, I bet that last sentence is a hard one to read! The key concept is that the understanding, having the understanding, is incredible.)

That preciousness should be reason enough, I think, to treat it with reverence and to get the absolute most out of it. To choose to have the impact of your actions be positive, generative.

Strangely, it seems to me that we don't think very much or very clearly about impacts in our culture.
